Within a very short period of time, Ali had undergone an open brain surgery and removed part of the tumor, followed by a course of radio and 3 cycles of chemotherapy for approximately 8 months. The results seemed to be very encouraging as he was relieved from his illness..... but not for long. In only three months, a recurrence of the brain tumor had occurred. "I felt like my fate was chasing me, and there was nowhere I could hide" Ali was then put on another line of chemotherapy for 11 cycles, which led to a great improvement in his health status once again. "The fact that I was improving after the recurrence assured me that I was on the right track, accompanied by the right people. I knew that I was eventually going to see the light." Total regression of the tumor occurred. Ali resumed his normal lifestyle with no concern about his previous illness. "I had already been through many turbulent experiences which affected my life a great deal. Life meant a lot more to me than I ever before". However, once again Ali's happiness didn't last enough. about a year later he was diagnosed with yet another brain tumor. But this time Ali health status was going downhill, a very steep hill... "He couldn't talk. he couldn't move. he didn't even recognize me anymore" these are words coming from Ali's brother who went through all the pain of seeing him in this state. "I thought cancer had finally controlled my brother's fate." Ali was in the intensive care unit for six weeks receiving all the necessary medical support "at first I honestly had no reason to believe that he was going to survive. but as time went by, hope was growing inside me. Ali was receiving the most advanced medical support by a professional team of doctors who definitely appeared to be very confident with what they were doing." The days finally started to come when Ali started to gradually recover from his illness. " I experienced a miracle in front of my own eyes" says his brother. Ali is now back to where he previously was. he commenced his work again, but with a change in his attitude towards life. He got married in March 2003. "Life is beautiful. I value it more than ever before. Thank you Cairo Cure, you gave me my life back". |
