First Visit

First Visit to Cairo Cure

At Cairo Cure we want you to feel in control of your treatment. An initial evaluation will include a detailed medical history, blood tests and will give you an opportunity to talk through any particular concerns you may have before treatment begins.

Booking

Your initial consultation with one of our specialists (oncologists) will be booked following a referral by your GP, surgeon or you may have booked this yourself.

During this consultation, your oncologist (consultant) will discuss your particular case and review the best options available to you. This decision may also involve other specialists in the multidisciplinary team (MDT). In practice, this means that your unique treatment plan can be discussed and agreed by a range of specialists, typically including a surgeon, medical oncologist, pathologist, radiologist, nurse and other health professionals – all of whom specialize in your cancer type.

Consultation at Cairo Cure

Your specialist consultant will supervise every aspect of your care plan. As your treatment progresses, the multidisciplinary team will monitor your progress, adjusting your personalized plan if necessary to ensure that you receive the best treatment at every stage of your journey. Your consultant will discuss their recommendations with you and help you understand and shape your plan as treatment progresses.

Your treatment may consist of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery or a combination of these. This is known as your treatment plan a will be discussed with you in detail by your consultant. It is important that you feel comfortable with your treatment choices and fully understand their risks and benefits before you proceed. Once you understand your chemotherapy treatment plan, your oncologist will ask you to sign a consent form before your treatment commences.
